Well I am surprised it's that low
Fox News reports a poll shows that 25% of Muslims in the US think killling dhimmi civilians is fine. My initial response was "well duh", then "only 25%?" You can read the whole thing thing here. Equally scary - 40% say that arabs did not carry out the attacks on 9-11.
You have to wonder just how out of touch the media is. Anyone who has listened to CAIR, who has shopped in a Moslem- run market or butcher shop and actually looked at either the books or talked to the staff, who has seen how Moslem student organizations behave on campus, or just dealt with Moslems in a medical capacity know that a large chuck are not intergrating. After all, I don't see the Protocols of the Elders of Zion in Hindu, Baptist, or Asian groceries. The assumptions that Moslems have special rights, that women are not fully human (some MDs I know have some lovely stories of how 12 year old Moslem boys treat their mothers, sisters, and the nurses - or try to), and that all non-Moslems are dhimmi are very apparent in a large chunk of the population. (Editor - andthe first and last points are supported by the Democratic Party and the press corp with their constant pandering) To deny that these attitudes exist in American Islam is insane. It's there and its very common in the newer immigrants. One non-practicing Moslems I know, who appears totally Americanized, still goes off the wall at any preceived slight to Moslems and Islam without ever considering it could be valid.
Of course, like with many things and the press, getting out of your office and dealing with people might help our journalist friends to see what actually happens out here. That btw means away from your friends. You can similar mindsets in any city but that only reinforces your prejudices. Travel is only broadening if you don't bring home with you.
