In English?
Noah received an award last night at Liberty for excellent in English. Not science, not mathematics, not computers but English. There are obviously some bad influences on that child that need to be purged. He also laid a gravel path for me around the garden and flagstones out to the shed in the back today. I'm beginning to worry if elves have stolen my son and left a changeling.

Given that you *are* in Texas, I would think that you can take at least some small comfort that it wasn't in Spanish...
As for the elves? Take 'im to church, and have them annoint him with oil again. Once an elf has been touched by the Holy Spirit, it looses all memory of its former life, and become just a human forevermore. Or so said my great-grandmother, who knew about such things.
Well, he's been blessed and baptized so as much as we may wonder, we're fairly sure he's ours.
Your great-grandmother must have dealt with Celtic or English elves. Not all of the old ones from Russia behave that way. Some do, others change into animals to run away, and others burst into flame. Depends on the type...
She was a Scot.
But even if he was one of those Slavic changelings-bursting into flames would still be a good indicator, right?
So Celtic style elves then. No bathhouse spirits either...
Yes, but for some reason that distresses him...
