Red River

I drove up to UO in Norman today and I don't think I ever remember Oklahoma being this green and lush in July. Normally those goats would be in yellow fields as the summer sinks in.  Water levels are amazingly high, with the Red River well over its bank. The fellow from the State of Texas said we actually had dropped 3 feet from the morning and about 8 from peak. Of course, the ground is so saturated there is no assurance this will continue if the rain doesn't stop. I shot these on the way back from the Texas side. In the morning, the river was dirt red and running much faster but I was running a bit late. I should have stopped for the shot as these really don't do it justice. The tree line near the middle of the second one below were on the old bank. The road in the second is normally a great place to fish as it overhangs the river by about 5 feet.
