San Jose and Cumin Lamb at 1 am

I flew out to San Jose last night to speak at a seminar on material characterization and arrived at 12:30 local time.  Hunan Taste closes at 11 and I knew Doc and Laura weren't going to be around to feed me, so I wandered over to Militipas's Chinatown and found that Nutritious House <sic> was open. This is the only place in the States I found that cooks the western Chinese cusine with its heavy use of cumin and hot peppers.  I never been able to find a recipe for it. So if anyone knows one...

Ourseminar is heavily focused on electronic applications and we seeing a lot of interest in very thin membranes and films. It's interesting to see a greater interest in QC applications in areas like fuel cells and photocells as it suggests people are actually making them...

UPDATE: Found one here. Off to the grocery when I get home.

Mmmm..cumin lamb...I know this is heresy or worse, but the PF Chang pseudo-Chinese restaurant chain has a Chengdu lamb dish with a load of cumin and hot pepper that is actually rather decent. I have not seen any other place that makes them either, so I was totally taken aback when I was there during one of those corporate dinners and sampled this one.
