Smithing with the boys

Well, I still can't forge weld but the boys had a great time. Noah made this cool knife from a spike (better photos tomorrow when it comes out of the tempering oven) and Ben learned to twist, draw out, maintain a fire and make a hook. Chuck was a great teacher and the boys thought he was pretty cool. High praise from a teen and a tween.

I made the rest of the set of forge tools (poker, spoon, and water can holder), a door handle for the freezer in the garage (which I made two short ), scrolling tongs, and a triangle and striker for the BBQ CAT tent. Tomorrow - more forge welding, scrolls, and maybe some fancy work. While we were playing, the goddess and her mother had a free day for museum hopping and the flower show.
