Brazil - Made it in one piece
I spent most of yesterday afternoon and last night on planes, arriving in Rio de Janerio this morning at 7:40 local time (5:40 Texas time). The local thermal specialist, Thiago, who could play line for UT, picked me up and dropped me at the hotel. By the time I had breakfast - great fresh fruits and coffee - and a shower, the clouds had burned off and I am going to wander around. The hotel is 3-4 blocks from the Ipanama beach and there are all sorts of little markets and stuff open on Sunday.
A couple of quick shots on the way in from the airport are below. Rio is much hillier than I expected. All sorts of houses and buildings cling to this sharp hills. I got a promise of site seeing Tuesday or Wednesday so there should be more later in the week. More after my walk...
