Day 2 - One of those days but the seafood's great
Tuesday turned into one of those days with instrutment problems during the dayand everything closed afterward. Antonio, our local dealer, took me to the Christos, which had closed early that day, and the Luis Gonzales Conference Centre for Norte food and kitsch, which also closed early. We then got stuck in traffic. Now he did have these CDs of the Brazilian group Trashpour4, which had the coolest redo of "Clouds in my coffee" to Brazilian rythyms. After that, we went to Sira a Barra, which specializes in seafood and had the rodonodo, awhite fish from southern Brazilian waters, the seafood risseto - Brazil's rice dish- and more great coffee. On the way back, we stopped at Baha beach to watch the waves, talk to the fishermen, and have coconut water drinks. I was right on which was the Southern Cross btw. Sad that the pocket camera can't show the stars...its a very different sky.
For those foodies out there, here is the seafood (shrimp, squid and octopus) rice and the fish with potatoes and creamed spinach. The rice was good but the fish amazing. It was grilled with no oil but spiced.

The Christos statue is near where the King of Portugal lived when in exile in Brazil. A very old part of the city, the streets are all cobblestones and trolleys run.

Another sandcastle on Baha beach on the way home...
