Day 3 Seminar Time and Christ the Redeemer Statue
I'm falling into a groove here. Get up early, use the hotel internet while it works, and then go have a reakfast of strange tropical fruits, bread, and caffe a leche. Then smother myself in DEET and head out for the day. Today we had the DMA seminar at the local University and we had over 50 attendees with a surprising lack of graduate students. In the morning, I talked about DMA and then Michelle talked on other thermal techniques. The response was very good and it went very well concidering the language barriers.

We then headed out to see the statue of Christ the Redeemer, the worldest largest Art Deco statue and a gift from France to Brazil. The figure of Christ God with His arms outstretched over the city is visible from anywhere in Rio. There is a small chapel in the base, where the mass was being offered when we were there. Besides the statue the veiw is something I couldn't even imagine how to photograph.

Me in front of the Statue. The chapel is on the other side.
