The BBC has a story about how Malaysia plans to curb women's ability to travel that ends with:

"In recent years the influence of hardline Islamic groups has been increasing in Malaysia, but it is unclear whether this proposal has any religious motive."

Apparently PC and liberal thought either causes more mind rot than I realized or journalism is now the home of the permanently bewildered. What the hell do they think motivates it?  What large section in Malaysia thinks of women as second class citizens without the ability to care for themselves? Whose holy book calls that out, claiming 2 women are needed to match the legal testimony of one man? Any guesses?

And journalists wonder why people don't trust them.
