Not that kind of chasse
but the kind where you shape patterns in metal. I took a couple of days class at Icon Arts in Austin, a lovely little icon studio in the old section of town.

and some samples, which will make nice bowl tops.

Nice! Where'd you get the metal? I've been looking for brass or copper in that weight for a while now, but never really stumbled onto any. The style I learned is a little (okay, a ton) different, and much more primitive, but it's still a hell of a lot of fun.

From Maga the instructor. You can buy the silver from some jewelry supply in Dallas - she couldn't remember the name - and the copper from St. Louis Craft Supplies. However, they only sell it in lots of about 500 USD worth according to the dark haired lady above. If you are working heavier metals with pitch and hammer, most jewelry suppliers and metal suppliers can get it, but again there is a minimum order of fair size. I thin locally I had to buy 4 by 8 feet the last time I got 28 g. copper.
UPDATE: Checked notes. Silver had to be gotten in whole rolls and was 500 USD last week. Copper price less thro very high now. People are apparently even stealing copper pipes as the price is so high. A place in Dallas also sells silver sheet called Mercart.
