Eis polla eti, Despota!

Bishop Jonah of Ft. Worth, our bishop for 11 days, has been chosen as Metropolitan of the Orthodox Church in America.

Vladika Jonah is a American-born convert to the Church, who became Orthodox in college and later a monk in Russia at the Valaam monastery. We never got to know him as Bishop of Fort Worth as it was only announced 2 weeks ago but he is very highly thought of. May God guide and protect him in his new duties.

(Editor's Note: Historically when a monk becomes a bishop and is then elevated to Patriarch or Metropolitan this quickly, it is normally in a rough time for the Church and they are either very good or very bad for the Church. Add to that the fact converts tend to be very good or absolutely terrible priests - often bordering on heresy or cultism -, and it is going to be a really interesting time in the OCA.)
