From Paris to Rouen with a stop at the Lourve
After a very late breakfast, Noah and I headed back to the Lourve at his request. We spent several hours there before hitting a cafe for croque monseuirs and cafe au lait. We found the Venus de Milo, which did strike us as good as its reputation, toured the underground remains of the orignial Lourve, looks at the Iranian and Pacific art, and still only covered a fraction of the collection Noah claims was obtained via the "saw and crowbar" approach.

Part of the most amazing part of the Louvre is the building itself. For examples, the ceilings...

And for Ben, some inspiration for casting bronze...

Then off to Rouen, humping our bags thro the Metro to the Gard St. Lazare to get the 4:30 local to Rouen. Rouen is very different in feel from Paris as the majority of the tourists are French. We are on the northern edge of town...

And just south of us is the downtown area with shops, the cathedral Monet painted, the Prison where they kept Joan of Arc, and the river Seine. We didn't explore much as it was getting late. We had dinner at the hotel as almost everything was closed - Noah had confit canard and I had the lapin normandy - chucks of bunny over butter noodles in a vinegar sauce. Then off to bed so we could be ready for my two presentation tomorrow.

UPDATE: This didn't post yesterday like it should so I am putting it up again today.
