Santa Barbara
Business took me to Santa Barbara Monday and Tuesday of this week. I ended up flying into LAX and driving up because of flight times. Turned out to be a good choice because the drive was beautiful. Santa Barbara was a pretty little tourist trap of a town, with great views, lovely old Art Deco and Victorian buildings, and a mission church build on the site of the old one. Both ways the fog was in, misting everything in gray and making it almost pretty enough to make me want to live here.

If you think San Diego's expensive, Santa Barbara would make your head spin! It's wonderfully picturesque, but too pricey for me.
Love your photo of the mission. There's something nostalgic about the way the man with the hat is turned away.

I noticed. Even a beer and a burger costs 20 bucks. Shockingly expensive...
Thank you. Having seen your work, that's quite a compliment.

My former sister-in-law lives there and she often complained of the expense. But I guess paradise always has some cost, doesn't it?
Thanks for the kind words on the photography. I'm getting there.

Prices were horrid by Texas standards for sure. It's pretty but the people were kinda snobby for paradise. I'll take the Texas hill country, thank you.
Someday I want to take pictures as well as you or Oleg Volk...I can dream anyway.
