I'm still really sleepy and sore, but the surgery went well and I am recovering as planned. I haven't heard from the pathologist yet but the surgeon wasn't really expecting anything surprising from the liver samples.  I'm posting this as I am really still too spacey to answer emails and phone calls yet.

UPDATE 9/30: Sorry, I was a bit vague above and I blame the drugs. I had my gallbladder removed and my liver sampled on Friday. I stopped taking the pain killers Monday night and was still  out of it when I wrote that. I wanted to answer the bunch of you who knew and were kind enough to call or email and thought this would be a faster way.  After 48 hours without the happy pills, I'm sore but finally thinking again so hopefully this explains it for those of you who were confused.
