After 3 days,

I may have learned something. The knife below, one from one of my travels, is flare cut, a variation of bright cut used on stainless steel. It's not good yet but at least I can see hope. The blade is about 1.5 inches long to give you an idea of the scale.



My classmates are a really diverse group, ranging from a 20 somthing jewelry to a 70ish retired V.D./Ph.D. and from a ranger from Nevada to an artist from Taiwan. The blonde lady is Diana Scalese, our teacher and an amazingly skilled engraver.
