Something to do with your hands...
Just some stuff for the Old Country Christmas done on my lunch hours:

Bird house with blue birds: Thuya burl caps, maple body, kingwood perch; Dangler: reversed turned spalted beech - stained cherry, cut glass star; Cardinal bird house: bois de rose* caps, mahogany body, kingwood perch. Mallet: Ben calls this the Low King's mallet in reference to a character in Pratchett's The 5th Elephant. Lignum Vitea head, Bulbinga handle, maple cap.
*stained to hide some misalignement on the second turning.
* *lovely stuff. Deep purple color and smells like vanilla when turned.
