Korea - My laptop dies at the seminar

It's trying to boot sand locks itself in a loop. No clue but I'll be in the office on Thursday and maybe we can get it to open. I can kinda survive with the blackberry and the hotel's PC but uploading photos maybe an issue.

All of yesterday was spend at the seminar I came to support and it was one of the best run as well as the classiest I have seen. A lovely location, well-run, set up and take down went really smooth - I wish I could bottle this to use other places. A lovely site with this large memorial in from of the fountain. And this odd scuplture in front. No one understood what it was but it's cool looking,,,like a worn millstone.

I'll post some photos later. Lunch was a Korean soup similar to what I had yesterday. People seems shocked that I use chopsticks as well as tolerate the spice level.  My northern coworkers are not coping as well.

We all went out to dinner near the office. Everything is in bloom and it's killing my allergies. Lovely to walk in thro as there are flowers everywhere.

We ate at some little place where we had the Korean equilavent of egg foo young made with green onions, mushrooms and squid, chili laden fish, and rice served in hot stone bowls. (You take the rice out leaving the crunchy part and then add hot water. It cooks into a porridge as you eat. Staying on my diet, I just tasted it.) There was also this beef-based  soup of chili, some indistinct veggie, and tofu served boiling hot that you added raw eggs to. They poached as it cooled and picked up some of the flavor. Lots of different kimchi including a couple of different types of seaweed. It was very different except for the entrees themselves from the Korean food we get in the US.

One of the best things Korea exports is cooks. Korean BBQ is awesome. However, there are a few more things that we need to steal from them. Car elevators for parking garages - I squealed like a little kid. Also coffee in a can. I know Starbucks sells it but every store here has about 50 different typed and blends. The cans fit into the machine that heats them to drinking hot in about 30 seconds. Decent coffee everway for about a dollar a can. Bars have the opposite thing: places to put a glass of beer that chills it down to -4 C in seconds.  I love technology.

WOD for Sean:  Swan 100 breast warmup. Distance in 12 minutes: 320m.
