Connie and Noah drove to Houston on Thursday for the prayers and I fly down on Friday morning, joining them for the funeral and burial. Bishop Basil, 38  fellow priests, a Navy Captain, and probably 500 people he had touched joined his family to mourn him. The normal joy we get from going to Houston to see Michelle and Ken, our only goddaughter Jessica, the Brewers, and other friends was diminished and we didn't stay very long at the Mercy Meal. Bishop Basil's sermon emphasized the fact the Fr. Matthew is now seeing face to face the Lord he was chosen to serve. It doesn't help... time will but for now we all still mourn.
