Philadelphia - Cloudy and Mild

I got into Philadelphia late yesterday and met Geoff for dinner. We found this French place, Parc , with outdoor tables by the Rittenhouse Square parc. The charcuterie was good but not up to the standard of the place  in Seattle I meet Kathy at. The rest of

meal was excellent and, after the string of plus 100 F days, back home sitting outside was a treat. The bourbon presse was pretty dang good too. The downtown area is very walkable like lower Manhattan and quite different from the spread out cities back home.

Today I found a little diner for breakfast (real Lox and eggs - hmmmm), took care of some business, and then headed over to set up the booth for the expo at the North America Thermal Analysis Society meeting. The University is about a 30 minute walk so I wandered over and got caught in a cloudburst on the bridge.  Looks like we are covered until 6 pm.

Penn's campus is a mixture of Ivy League lovely and middle of the city crunch. The conference is in Houston Hall, which borders on the Quad and is a lovely old building that doubles as the Student Union. As school starts later up here, its pretty dead.

I grapped lunch on the way back - real pizza (aka NY style) and not the toast covered with sauce you get in both Chicago and most parts of Texas.  Supplemented with a high-protein bar and apple to keep it in my diet.

I'm still in my down week so no WOD today. Wrist is feeling better but the ankle still hurts. Just old...
