New Orleans - AAPS, Food and Friends

I spent the weekend through today at the AAPS meeting in New Orleans. Some of the stuff covered in the USP workshop on counterfeit, adulterated, and substandard drugs was amazing - what a handheld unit can do these days was science fiction a bit ago. New Orleans is always a great place for food and this wasn't any
different.

So Friday night I had dinner at Rambla's - which did this platter of homemade meats, including the hog head cheese at the front.

Saturday night, Bryan and I hit a local place, Mulatte's for Cajun music and food. The appetizer was deep fried except for the frog's legs and the gator tail...

But the sample came grilled...

and there was local music and local beer...

The next day was pretty nice so I went walking at lunch.  Bourbon Street was as trashy and noisy as ever...

The rest of the quarter seems unchanged with street musicians, etc still there...

old buildings,

and the river seems unchanged.

The rest of the time I was pretty tied up with work but I did make several trips to Cafe Du Monde for cafe au lait and beignets (square French doughnuts sevred hot with powdered sugar) as well as to Central Market for muffalettas. Way too many carbs...
