The Netherlands and Belgium

My trip to Brussels started off with a strip search as my blue carry-on bag has apparently pick up traces of nitrates - I suspect gunpowder but didn't think telling them I toss my 10mm in there was a good idea. They got happier when they found out I was a chemist by trade but I still missed my fight and ended up taking a later one. Of course, that messed up my planned train connections.

So I was late for my meeting in Sittard and didn't get out until after dark. I took the train to Tilburg, where I had the most amazing dinner at L'Orange. 5 course of delightful meat and fish dishes I can't name as everything was in dutch. The next morning drove over to Ede for a discussion with another client. Then back to Tilbury for dinner and class with Bert.

Tilburg - the white building with the red roof is a KFC (sob).

No clue - but cool looking... its near the University in Tilburg

The next day I tried to get Ben a Tilburg University tee shirt with no luck and then took the train to Brussels. My luck continued with the train getting stopped in some small station by the police and we here held there for a bit. I never did find out why. Finally I reached my hotel, which turned out to be north Brussels. A nice little pub across the street had Benvelle Krieck on tap and there were, of course, frites...

and on the way to the Center. A surprising number of women in burkas on the street.

and frite shops too.
