Appleseed Shoot - the April 19th version

Ben and I went to an Appleseed in Argyle on Saturday. With Sunday being Palm Sunday, we didn't feel we should skip church to shoot. It was a lot of fun and the history lessons were well done. As it was the weekend preceding the 19th of April, they had a commemorative volley for those killed in Concord on April 19th, 1775. Appleseed asks the question if you are a rifleman or a cook: based on our performance it's a good thing an army marches on its stomach.

The shoot was held at Quail Creek Range in Argyle, Texas - just off of I-35W. You go down a little gravel road and cross a creek to find the range. It looks and feels like it's out in the middle of the country and is a lovely shaded place.  We were impressed with the instruction, despite the fact neither of us can hit anything unless we're standing. It's sad when your group size increases in prone.

We learned a bunch about using the loop sling, had some fun and hope to get back in the fall. In the meanwhile, viva la chef.
